I am one of the HealthCare Connect representatives.  I make sure that all the phone calls that come in get answered or get called back.  I also help in processing applications for potential HealthCare Connect members.  

I never really pictured myself working for such a great program.  There are days where I am overwhelmed with work, but at the end of the day, no matter how much work I had to finish, I always go home happy knowing that I was able to help out someone with receiving medical care.  

Even though sometimes the program seems to be to expensive in certain areas, I know it truly helps out individuals who, due to having no health insurance, have gone years without  seeing a doctor.  

How do I know?  

Because my parents are two individuals who due to having no insurance went years without going to a doctor, getting an annual checkup or anything.  

My dad in particular has been a diabetic for years, and took natural products to help him get the daily nutrients he needs, and even though it helps, that wasn’t enough.  He needed to see a doctor just to make sure everything was good and take medication for a diabetic.  

When I started to work in this program, I decided to help them enroll.  Since they’ve been in the program, they both have seen a doctor, gotten their prescriptions at affordable prices, and feel a lot better physically and mentally knowing they have something in case they ever need medical attention.  

I feel so happy that I was able to help out my family to receive affordable health care, and I feel proud that everyday that goes by I am able to do the same for hundreds of others who unfortunately have a difficult time, like my parents, to receive health coverage.
